Vets on North Lacey Grand Opening

The project consists of four apartment buildings and one common building that has an office, bicycle storage room, and laundry room. Twelve one-bedroom apartment units are now ready for veterans to move-in. Equitable design was implemented in the project as all twelve units are fully accessible. Each unit has a built-in workspace at the entry so that the residents have a place to proudly display their items and a workspace for hobbies.

                        

 

Perhaps the most unique features of the project are the variety of exterior spaces. Each unit has both a front porch and back porch which provides tenants the option of a more private exterior space. If residents want to engage in a more public exterior space, the buildings are situated around a main courtyard that has a variety of plantings and hardscapes with a covered pergola, smoking shelter, bike repair stand, fire pit, and bbq grill. Benches are placed throughout the site, and to the rear of the common building are six garden beds. It was the intent of the design to create a space that residents can build a community together.
